It does exactly what it says it does: gives you 10 externally-powered USB 2.0 ports. Two of the ports on the real panel are hinged so they can face sideways, or, if you mount it on something (I taped mine to the side of the case) face outwards. Those are most useful for flash drives. It's not fancy, but it is worth every penny because it does what it does perfectly.It comes with an AC adapter and USB cable to connect the hub to a USB 2.0 port, preferably on the motherboard.This is not my first one. I have this exact same design of hub but from another brand that is identical to this one, except for the label.A bit of a warning: there is a blue LED lightstrip on the top that is fairly bright and be quite annoying at night. You cannot shut it off, but you CAN antennuate the light with tape.If you need a way to connect a lot of cords to one hub, this is a good way to go. The price is right. My only concern (and it may just be the nature of these devices) is that it seems to get warm to the touch. I leave it connected to my computer all the time - even when there are no Input/Output cords attached to it. I do not know if that is the correct way to do things but so far it appears to be doing what it was designed to do.Compact, functional as advertised, a good value for money.This is a second purchase of this product. These work perfectly and are extremely reliable. My first is still plugging along after years of service. The two tilt up USB female receptacles are a really nice thought to add to this unit. Pefect for flash drives.Bottom Line: Very satisfied with this product.It seems like some or all of the ports just quit working periodically. Therefore, there is inconsistent performance. I don't understand why this would be. For instance, my keyboard was plugged into the hub and quit working. I plugged it into the computer directly and it worked.Don't waste your money or time. This device runs so hot that the metal tips will burn you; it's amazing the plastic casing doesn't melt. It overheats causing devices to drop in and out sporadically. It also comes with a very short 12" USB cable that is just to short for any practical usage. Can't return since used a rebate, so...goes to the garbage considering the overheating is a fire hazard and not worth burning my house down.
