I love this product and use it strictly to capture screen prints or short how to videos for work and home. This program also doesn't bog down the computer as system requirements are rather light. Love the fact that you can select to have the mouse highlight your clicks. You can also record internal or microphone sounds. Overall awesome program for short how tos or tutorials.I have used snagit professionally for years. Purchased it through this program for personal use. I have spend hours trying to install. No program code was sent and the link will not open. It is non-refundable. Pay more and receive a program that works.Snagit is one step above copy-and-paste feature. SNAGIT used to be okay. Now it is impossible to use. None of the features are relevant. Difficult to find assistance. Got better results using the free Snipping tool in Microsoft. Keep your money for a better app to capture screens. This is not it.This new version is plagued by bad product development and lack of support. This is an unexpected turn for TechSmith. I've used Snagit for four years without any interaction with their support system. The product worked and I saw steady improvement over the years...until now. Snagit 2022 arrived when anticipated, after I had paid for my subscription for support and free updates. Upon going through the update/upgrade process I was left with broken functionality that was being experienced by customers around the World. Upon contacting TechSmith for help, I was told that there are no technical development people available for help...and reloading an older version would not work. The best and only help you can now get is available from Customer Support level employees. That's NOT what I subscribed to and that level has been totally useless to Snagit 2022 customers. Months after the 2022 version was released, there has been no solution forthcoming. I gave up and moved on.Years ago I bought SnagIt after a trial, about $40 as I recall (a lot for me then -- I used mostly freeware). It was, at the time, the best screen capture I'd encountered, and I needed it for my job. Two weeks after I bought it, they brought out a new version. They wanted another $20 for that. I promised I'd never buy another.Fast forward to 14 months ago, I got a blurb that offered Snagit for $18 or so. With another $10 for a one-year maintenance. I'd followed it over the years, and thought, why not? Try it again. Foolish mortal!So I've been using 2021 for about a year, and gritted my teeth sometimes to make it work. Then I recently upgraded to 2022. What a hot mess this year's product is. Oh, yeah, it's powerful, can do all sorts of things my freeware version doesn't. But trying to get it to work as expected is a nightmare. There are necessary options buried in all sorts of places, numerous glitches and bugs, and operational "who designed this?" issues.My impression is that TechSmith is committed to releasing a new version every year. Which means that 1. Bugs in the old version are ignored after that year, 2. You have to upgrade to get rid of the bugs (hopefully), and 3. The new version has bugs of its own. Check out their web site's Forum.I'll give them an additional star for their tech Support. Jason has been patient with me, as I've uninstalled and reinstalled between 2021 and 2022, trying pre-release versions, complaining to him, etc. I've probably put in 10+ hours troubleshooting 2022. Good thing I'm retired.In short, try it first for a week. Your mileage may vary. And look into some others too. And one more thing : if you uninstall it, use a quality uninstaller. It leaves a lot of junk behind.Bought directly from Techsmith. Unlike any other program, no desk top icons, going to programs list to load ' only operates for installed components'. Worked when loaded Microsoft Snip (logo +shift+S) . Tried re-installing but that just hangs at around 50% for ever. Tried leaving a message on Techsmith website, response, reply to my backup gmail that I do not monitor, see how things go
